As high school seniors throughout the California are busy submitting college applications for the upcoming academic year, the California Masonic Foundation is offering much-needed support.
The Foundation has recently updated its College Gold Rush site – an online financial aid resource. This helpful website provides a wealth of resources to help demystify the financial aid process for students, parents, and educators, including a step-by-step guide to completing necessary forms and thorough answers to common questions and misperceptions.
The site’s primary focus is helping students from underresourced families – likely the first generation to attend college – to help them access available resources, while also educating them about the financial aid process, including loan terms and repayment. Although some sections are applicable to families anywhere in the United States, the site provides targeted support for students in California, with information about state-sponsored aid for foster youth, undocumented immigrants, and other high-need students.
College Gold Rush is just one way that California Masons are working to improve the lives of children in need statewide. Learn more about the California Masonic Foundation at freemason.org.
